These were born out of an intense dislike for a certain torture device called "baby tights". Evil little things. Terrible to get on a squirming child, and off and on again for the endless diaper changes. These leg warmers make me think of my childhood in the 80s and the lavender striped pair that I owned. Oh yes... and the PASTEL PINK ones, too. Those of you who know me, don't fall over in shock that I actually wore something pink. Besides, they matched the paint on my bedroom walls.
Materials:
--Any worsted or aran weight yarn that will give you gauge. I used aran BFL from Black Sheep Baby.
--US 8 (5.0mm) DPNs, set of 5 - or needle size that will give you gauge
--US 5 (3.5mm) DPNs, set of 5 - or needle size that will give you gauge
Gauge: 20 sts and 27 rows to 4" (5spi).
These baby leg warmers are worked from the top down.

KFB - does that mean Knit front and back of the loop? Also, this pattern sounds great, what yarn have you used that you liked? I am going to make these for my 1 yo and almost 4 yo girls.
I've made a pair and they look great.I've posted them on Ravelry my name is desertrose on Ravelry.
Thank you for sharing the pattern .
On the PDF, it lists a second pair of needles, three sizes smaller than the gauge, but I don't see where it ever uses them...am I hallucinating? Missing something? Help! (I'm a WAY beginner, so if it's something obvious, forgive me.)
LeAnna,
Thank you for pointing out this oversight! I will correct the PDF and this post in the near future. In the meantime, use the smaller needles for both the thigh ribbing (at the start of the pattern) and the ankle ribbing (at the end of the pattern). Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
AmyJ
Ahhh, okay. Good to know. I'm just finishing up my gauge swatch on the 8's, so we'll see if that's right and then charge forward starting with 5's. Oooh, exciting!
